After months of hard work from pupils and engineers alike, the ‘Small- Plumbing’ project, led by ERPE, came to an end with an illustrious awards ceremony at the Royal Society of Edinburgh. All the attendees enjoyed an inspirational talk from Lucy Ackland, winner of the 2014 Women’s Engineering Society Prize.

Heriot-Watt University and the University of Edinburgh welcome the outstanding results of REF2014 for the Edinburgh Research Partnership in Engineering (ERPE). 94% of our overall research activity is world-leading or internationally excellent. This, combined with the number of academic staff involved, makes Edinburgh the UK powerhouse in Engineering.

Tuesday 14 October is Ada Lovelace Day, an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
