Energy and Resource Management

ERPE research in Energy and Resource Management focuses on enhancing petroleum production and exploration, renewable energy, especially marine and solar; electrical generator design, especially systems for wind/marine applications; network asset replacement techniques to for long term supply resilience and CO2 capture and storage.

Demand for energy is increasing and requires enhanced efficiency of exploration and production for fossil fuels. Similarly, climate change is a major concern, requiring mitigation through improved consumption efficiency, displacement of fossil capacity by zero carbon sources and development of carbon capture and storage. ERPE research directly addresses these societal concerns in partnership with government and industry
