  • Climate Change Impacts on Renewable Energy
Harnessing renewable energy sources is key to mitigating climate change. Unfortunately the very fact that such sources are derived from climatic conditions may leave them vulnerable to changes in climate. Impacts include changes in the magnitude and timing of resource availability knock-on consequences for the efficiency and effectiveness of energy extraction and importantly there may be implications for the economics of such plant. Work at IES is aiming to understand the potential impact of a changing climate on a range of renewable energy resources
  • Network Integration of Renewable Energy
This work is being funded EPSRC under the Supergen Flexnet and AMPerES consortium
  • Carbon Footprints of Renewable Energy
This work is trying to understand the carbon emissions that occur during the life cycle of renewable energy technologies particularly marine and electricity networks
