Heriot-Watt enjoyed a successful evening at the Interface Excellence Awards winning two out of three awards. Winners were announced on Thursday 21 November at a celebratory reception at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

Two new postgraduate training centres, aimed at producing tomorrow's top engineers and scientists, will be led by Heriot-Watt University as part of a £350m initiative announced by Science Minister David Willetts.

The British Geological Survey (BGS) and Heriot-Watt University are joining forces to create a new centre for earth and marine science and technology.

Based at Heriot-Watt's Edinburgh Campus, the Sir Charles Lyell Centre will be one of Europe's leading centres for research and expertise in the earth and marine sciences.

Heriot-Watt's Moscow Graduations took place on 18 October in the splendid surroundings of the British Ambassadors Residence in the heart of the city. The Congregation for the conferment of degrees was made up of students who were graduating from the Heriot-Watt University Master of Science courses in Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir Evaluation and Management.
