Professor Ford awarded Honorary Diploma by Baku Higher Oil School
Professor John Ford, ERPE Institute of Petroleum Engineering, has been awarded an Honorary Diploma by Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). The award was conferred at the annual celebration for the start of the academic year.
Rector of BHOS, Mr. Elmar Gasimov, presented the award and the event was attended by the Rovnag Ibrahim Abdullayev, President of State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), and Maleyka Abbaszade, Chairman of the State Student Admission Commission.
The Honorary Diploma was awarded in recognition of John's contribution to the important social project aimed at the development of human resources in the field of oil and gas. Particular appreciation was given to his readiness to assist BHOS staff to meet any challenge which they might encounter.
Baku Higher Oil School
Baku Higher Oil School was established in 2011 as a public institution within SOCAR, according to a Decree issued by the President of Azerbaijan Republic, Ilham Aliyev.
Heriot-Watt University entered into a partnership with BHOS to deliver the Heriot-Watt University BEng. Programs in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering in 2012.
BHOS now has over 200 undergraduate students enrolled on the BEng Programs. This will grow to a steady state of approximately 400 students over the next 2 years.
