A first-year Heriot-Watt University student, Tarige Kamblawi, is looking to help UK households reduce water usage and energy bills, with an idea he has submitted to the Shell Ideas360 competition.

Students from Heriot-Watt’s School of the Built Environment were part of the winning team at the 2014 Designing Places competition which took place on Saturday 15 March at the Lighthouse in Glasgow.

Professor Raffaella Ocone, from the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, was recently invited to deliver a lecture for the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET), Scotland South West Network.

The invited lecture, which took place in 16 January at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, was part of a series for the IET, which has more than 150,000 members in 127 countries.
